Sharks?

My neice is visiting from Colorado & want's to see some sharks. We are going out for a few days off San Diego. I'm trying to decide if we are totally nuts to try some chumming. By the way we plan to be many miles from any shoreline before we try this stunt. This may be a strange question, but any takers out there.

Blue sharks

Please forgive the old picture but there are lots of blue shaks off of the Southern Cal. coast. This 125# was caught from my Cal 2-27 back in 1981 right outside of the Mission Bay jetty on a calm day. Chumming the water will work for these guys. They are not man eaters but will attach in a feeding frenzy.

Enjoy!!!........................_/)

Well, have returned without a shark encounter. We ended up with 6 teenagers for the three day trip, so thought better of it. ARE THERE ANY PARENTS OUT THERE WHO SAIL WITH TEENS? I am glad my kids are grown up; the occasional relative is O.K. This many kids was a real trial. But as the master captain I am (HAH) we weathered all the unusual & all had a great time. I'm sure they will have stories to tell their friends, but, mostly good ones.
The sailing weather was excellent for the time we were out. A little overcast, but the sail conditions were excellent. No swell, to speak of, approx 15-20 w/n-w. Warm seas to swim in & an auntie who is very indulgent.
