SECOND HAND SAILS IN AUSTRALIA

I have had a call requesting the following;

"We have a Roberts 37, with a furler for 8mm bolt rope.
We are looking for a sail that has a 7oz weight that can be rolled, furled with a Leach of 11.6m; Luff 12.9m; Foot 6m
Of course the Leach is negotiable but we cannot go anymore on the Luff."

I have a few sails around but not one to match. I can't seem to find a second hand sail dealer. I thought it would be easy! Anyone know the place? Get in touch and I'll pass the word.. tcp@matilda.net.au

Otherwise I would be making a call to Doyles and Norths as they often have a list of what is around there dealers. We have a second hand sail loft in Auckland, but I can't find the contact details yet. Let me know if you are interested in something this far away, and I will try harder for you.

You could try talking to some sailmakers.
Many would have used sails or clients who have just replaced a sail.

Greetings all...

Wheeler... they had checked with "Yachtequipment" in Melbourne with no lucK. The next step then, is to have them start ringing sail makers one at a time. Thanks Chris

I took on the job because I was surprised that none could be found right away... whats this country coming to!!!! no second hand sail dealer... shock horror!

Shipping from the US will be prohibitive I think but thanks for the thought Jeff, but maybe NZ.. I'll let em know and get back to you Wheeler.

Sounds like a business opportunity.

I'm up to page 16 of the new edition and can't fit everything in... may have to go to our first 28 pager... oh well, back to work.
