Schooner 'Adventuress' Needs Our Help

Sound Experience is a non profit that educates the youth and adults of Puget Sound aboard the historic schooner Adventuress in Port Townsend, WA. Over the last 20 years more than 50,000 people have sailed aboard the Adventuress learning about the environment, leadership and protection of our waterways.

The schooner Adverturess is in the middle of a great Centennial restoration project. A Crowningshield design, built by Rice Brothers of Boothbay ME in 1913, this gaff sail, two master has a little history under her belt. Knowing that she is going to be used by the good people of Sound Experience for years to come makes her restoration a great project.

I'm encouraging each of you to help support their mission. It doesn't cost anything. Your vote can help them win a share of $1 MILLION DOLLARS. Vote each day and help support their maritime educational efforts.
Go to www.votefortheboat.com for information, to register, and/or cast a vote. Do it every day. It's free but it can really make a difference.

Right now Adventuress is tied with a historic building in Seattle for 1st place. Only 1 more day to vote.

I've voted every day for Adventuress since the notice went out in 'Lectronic Latitude. Is the percentage of the vote all we're going to see until the results are announced?

Adventuress was in a very tight race with Town Hall Seattle, with the lead supposedly going back-and-forth several times during the last day. Ultimately, Adventuress prevailed, but because it was such a close competition, American Express decided to give each of the competitors $125,000 for their preservation efforts.

Truly a win - win - win for Adventuress, Town Hall Seattle and American Express.
