Just go sailing, it's a 24, it's your first boat, the paint job will look bad and you will probably sell her at a loss. When you find your dream boat, you will know, because you will ignore this advice and paint it anyway, knowing that you will enjoy the finish for the rest of your life (or the boat's, whichever ends first.)
