Re: Sailor Lost; 406 EPIRB Activated 30nm N of Key West
Hey there Capngeo - Thank you for keeping this site up to date. I tried to send you a message but don't think it got through. I can tell by your messages that you know Jay very well. He is such a great guy. I am a very good friend of his up here in Alaska, he was supposed to be on his way to my house in the next week or so. I know his family is very worried. I'm very grateful that he has someone down in KW that's been a good friend and is tracking this so closely. As you know, Jay is a very resourceful guy, so if there is a way out, he will find it! Please, any tid bit of information, please keep the updates coming.

Re: Sailor Lost; 406 EPIRB Activated 30nm N of Key West
It is with a heavy heart that I read this latest update.
Hope is not altogether lost, but I had so expected better news at this stage.
I know how much Jay's family and friends must be suffering as well at the moment. The whole sailing community will be feeling the effects of this to some degree.

My heart has that sinking feeling when I read these posts. It dosen't take a big storm or huge mistake for things to go wrong.
I'll lighten up the tone here by saying...as I looked at two photographs of Jay posted by different folks, I noticed the eye-patch in one photo on the left eye and the other photo on the right eye. Either the negative was reversed or Jay was having a good laugh.

I get a small chuckle from reading your signature CS. Perhaps it fits Jay's life.

Sounds like it does. The most I love about sailing is not only the lifestyle but all those souls you meet. The real salt of the earth.

Re: Sailor Lost; 406 EPIRB Activated 30nm N of Key West
I read this thread from beginning to end hoping for a good outcome but was saddened to read that USCG have given up.
As already said, Godspeed Jay.

And here with no patch at all....
Asked him about it once, and he dodged the question; I didn't press it.
