Maybe some food, a solar panel to charge the cell phone.

Re: Sailor abandons boat off Florida coast

- traveled to the boat on his skateboard
- had never sailed before
- got scared so got into a "raft"
- plans to get another boat and try again

probably didn't have the required $500/mo budget

BINGO! This is the exact same thought that I had. Hates our society because they "exploit the masses" but meanwhile, he's exploiting whomever it is that is taking care of his child and all of the people from whom he gets things "for free."

Then, when things get tough, he wants the Norse gods and hs mom to bail him out - exploiting them as well.

Yet, he's above capitalism because that would require him to get a job.

I know a few very competent sailors meeting that description.. ones around 21 and skippers his own 35ft tri around the Caribbean..
Addendum... has the Dreadlocks.. not the pot.
Someone missing that many brain cells must have killed them somehow. My guess is pot. Nothing against those who partake. There was a time when I did but I was much younger then.

So the nasty capitalist world is OK if it produces and contributes free food and shelter to him as long as he doesn't have to get his hands dirty.
He should be informed that "love" is NEVER free.... Should it be a wife or a hooker.... they both cost.... Unless of course it's a friend or neighbor looking for free love too....

Except for his cell phone is dead and he probably doesn't have a computer. Maybe his mom can do it for him, or someone can donate their computer I mean he does like free stuff. C'mon lets all pitch in and help him out.

Re: Sailor abandons boat off Florida coast

Does anyone else think that this thread should be renamed? Afterall, it leaves a completely erroneous impression to call him a 'sailor'! Something like 'landlubber leech', 'penurious pea-brain', 'deluded dimwit', or even 'silverspoon socialist swine' would be far more appropriate, in my opinion. Perhaps we should run a contest for renaming the thread.....

I see his problem: he was not praying to the right Norse deities: instead of Óðin and Týr he should have been praying to Ægir and Rán. I wonder how is doing now, a year later.
