sailmaker in panama

hi,
am wondering if anyone has any experience with, or knows of any sail makers in Panama. My yacht is currently in Bocas del Toro and will be heading on to Colon and through the Canal for a pacific crossing. so anywhere in those areas.
cheers

Re: sailmaker in panama

The only one I know of is Vladimir (he is French, not Russian) in Shelter Bay Marina. They have just opened a new sail loft and have a big floor and table with large sewing machines. I just had him do a modification and repair on our sail cover and it was a superb job. Like all things associated with Shelter Bay, it was expensive.

I also discussed some major modifications to our mainsail and came away with the impression that he really knows what he is doing and understands sails and their construction.

There is also supposed to be a guy in Puerto Linton, but I have never been able to make contact with him.

I think the guy in Puerto Linton is the Doyle sail rep. He dropped off some StackPacks to a few boats the last time I was in Shelter Bay. Google doylesails and Panama.
