Sailing Charleston SC to Jupiter Island FL Nov 1st

New owners sailing a 49' Hunter from Charleston SC to Jupiter Island Fl on or before Nov 1st.
Would like to get any helpful info from cruisers who have sailed this route before. We prefer not to travel the ICW unless weather forces us too. Looking forward to meeting any cruisers who will be sailing along our route.

The usual cautions apply. There is nothing unusual about this passage. Keep an eye on the weather, know which inlets you can duck in if needed, not all are useable, and don't try to outrun a front in November. Chuck

We usually go from Charleston to St. Marys River ( Fernandina Beach). Straight shot. If weather cooperates keep going south. Once you leave Charleston it really is a lot of bother (and distance) to run for cover. If I remember right it's about 60 miles from the rhumb line to the GA coast in the middle of the trip. Wait for two days of good weather and go.
