Sailing a Bavaria 50 Alone?

ı do find many ex charters bav 50s on market , most crosed ocens and full of experience , my main aim is to trawel from cyprus to turkey on summers , so thats a piece of cake for a 50 footer ı know .... 2002 - 2003 bav 50s ı found are around 90 - 150 k euros ...are these prices good you think or there might be better prices around somewehere .... any web pages you know selling boats direct from owners ? no brokers to broke our wrists regards to you all my friends.

Sorry, I have no knowledge of pricing or value on Bavarias. Nor do I know of a website from which you could buy directly from the owner. I'm sure someone will chime in.

Sorry I don't know in detail the current prices, but there are a lot for sale. A few hours on the web should establish the baseline asking price. Expect most boats to be sold for 10-20% less.
Have someone experienced with sailboats help you with the inspections and then get a professional survey done on the chosen boat.

Don't underestimate the difficulties of sailing of a largish boat singlehanded with an inexperienced skipper.
If you approach with the attitude "it will be piece of cake" you will get into serious trouble. It will need a careful, cautious, approach recognising your limitations to be successful.

it is a piece of cake for 50 footer ı mean ..... for me ıll have hard times but ım strong fighter ,,,and ll get experience ..

You might want to think about buying something 50 foot and over. I do not know the regulations where you live, but in Denmark, sailing anything over 50 feet, outside of Danish waters requires a Yacht Master 1st class license

Welcome to the forum and if you want ot tell us more about yourself - drop a post on the "meets and greets" forum.

I'll try to say this nicely - If you are an experienced sailor and asking this question - then the answer is "no". This is a very big boat. It is possible to singlehand someting like this, but few have the skills to do it.

I single hand a 54 footer. It is in some ways easier than single handing a smaller boat. The only real challenge is docking, and even that can be mastered eventually,

For EUR 150.000 You can find well maintained and equipped OCEAN STAR 51.2 in Greece.

Whether or not a sailboat can be sailed by one sailor alone depends on skills of the sailor and then on the layout / equipment of the boat.

It also depends on what sort of sailing is in question.

I believe that anybody who is asking such a question cannot.
