Uncle Eric ,as Eric Hiscock was known to many cruisers in the 70s was a hero of mine. I read many of his books
and admired his techniques. I also had the oportunity to see Wander 2 sitting in a berth in Hawaii
, looking a little forlorn, and was once able to get aboard Wanderer 3 in Tahiti(under later ownership), and spent more than a few drunken evenings aboard Wanderer 4(under later ownership) in Antigua
. I also became friends with the owners of Dryac which I believe was reviewed in one of Hiscocks books
. Eric Hiscock wrote good conservative advice which is more than I can say about people that followed along after him(Hal Roth and Don Street). If it had not been for the Hiscocks books, I probably would never have left the dock
. Thank You Eric and Susan Hiscock.____Grant.
