Regatta to Cuba

I had a sailing friend call me this morning. He started talking about the possibility of the Regatta to Cuba starting back up again from Florida.

Anyone hear anything about it? If so what are the details.

try Offshore Risk Management, a Brit company based in the BVI, I think they will cover Cuba,
also Yachtmaster Insurance based out of Woodbridge in Suffolk, UK

Hey,

I am not sure I'll be needing insurance if they did not open up a way of us getting there! Back to the original question.......

Is the US government going to allow the regatta to Cuba? Has anyone heard?

When it ran, it wasn't "allowed" but rules were not enforced. Bush administration changed that, I think the Obama bunch have stopped funding enforcement for such events. However, don't come back to me whining if you try it and get busted.

Now, where do I sign up?

Here's a thread on the regatta--http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...0-a-26128.html

It's scheduled for late 2010, and some news reports I've read quote Congressmen as stating that the travel restrictions should be repealed by then.
