Recently Purchased a '74 2-29 - Question About Cabin Upholstery

The boat hadn't been used for a couple of years, and we pulled all the cabin cushions out except for a few backrests since the canvas bottoms had become moldy. We've been airing them out at our house, and have decided not to replace them but rather just to put some easily removable rubber-backed mats and patio cushions in the boat.

I'm inclined to just throw the old cushions away, but am thinking I need to keep them to use as patterns if I ever decide to have them remade in the future to bring the boat back to its original configuration. Any suggestions? Does anyone have patterns for them? They take up a lot of space, so I'd rather not have to store them indefinitely.

Use the cushions to make patterns. Fold up the patterns and put them away. Throw out the moldy cushions.

To make patterns does the foam need to be in them, or do they just use the covers?
