Port suggestion? Where would you keep a boat; any where in the world?

If you could keep a boat away from your home anywhere in the world where would you keep it? The idea would be to fly there and sail and vacation part time or some time during the year. Please send me some ideas.

I live in San Diego and have an extra 30 foot. I was thinking of putting it in San Carlos, MX on the hard.

I will eventually get larger boats so I would love to hear of distant ports that are cost effective (inexpensive) and great for vacationing.

Thanks!

I keep my boat as close to home as possible. That way I can use it anytime I want to and I can do necessary maintenance with just a twenty minute drive. My wife and I often spend weekends on the boat when we're not cruising on it.

If we had to pack bags, and fly (or even drive a long distance) to use the boat, I doubt it would get used more than once or twice a year and it might be unreliable from neglect.

Chartering a boat at some distant port would seem like a more practical and even less expensive idea.

Agree completely. I kept my boat in St Thomas for a couple of years and it was a pain. Got down only a few times a year and almost every trip was spent mainly fixing stuff that quit working due to lack of use.

Even ignoring that aspect the answer would totally depend on what the OP prefers. He might not like at all the kind of cruising I like.
