Does anyone know if polars can be calculated from lines drawings?
I have a 1976 Moody 52 Carbineer
ketch which is no greyhound, but I would like to use Predict Wind's
passage planning or even its
weather routing features.
Or is there a way to automaticaly log actual perfornance and derive polars? I am effectively single-handed so spending some days manually logging performance, esp trying to capture performance over different
wind and sea conditions might take up a whole season!
(I do realise my
instruments need calibrating if I want to judge my sailing against polar 'targets' and also to build my own empirical polars - but my main interest is in planning and routing and I hope theoretical polars will be good enough for that.)
