Re: Pocketyacht, Dinghy and Open Boat Cruising

We usually cruise in our 31-foot yawl, but every now and then I'll cartop our 8-foot sailing dinghy up to Maine for a bit of solo boat camping.

The only thing I don't like about it is hauling the boat above the high tide line to set up camp. The tidal range is so big that it's often a long uphill drag. I'm thinking of making a demountable wheel contraption that can slip into the gudgeons.

To help get the discussion going. Here is a 12 foot cruiser I just finished a fall color cruise aboard in the northern Great Lakes.
