Please and Thank You

This forum is all across the board as far as folks from different nations. Often enough there is confusion between manners of speaking. Therefore, I ask that you not use acronyms. Please spell out what you are saying. F'rinstance, in the 'How to make a living while cruising' thread I haven't a clue what RPP means. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

63 RPP Acronym/Abbreviation Meanings - What Does RPP Stand For?

This site lists 63 possibilities. That should narrow it down.

Yer welcome.

I hate acronyms. I'm with you. If I were still raising my kids, I'd beat them every time they used one. But I'm not, so all I can do is hope.

Sure, but "F'rinstance" was a new one to me and could be confusing for many. What's wrong with plain old "for instance"? Your contraction did not even save one character, so what's the point?

The correct phrase would be "you can't stop counting". :-)

And dear reader should hazard which of that list applies? SWIM? Have a cold one while you figure that one. It shouldn't be too hard. Wait, what were we talking about?

Attaboy. I just knew someone would take to task my seeming contraction. But it wasn't difficult, right? It wasn't difficult to discern because it isn't an acronym. So what it didn't save a keystroke it is still immediately understandable therefore relatable. KWIM.

Tsk tsk. My original purpose of this thread was not to use contractions as like a petulant teenage school girl but to point to the Real Stuff (TM) of real life. Say, RPP.

The contraction I get but hate is "prolly".

This annoys me almost as much as being unable to access my neighbor's WIFI a dozen feet away. He's Canadian. YKWTM.

Re: Please and thank you

Well, if we all want to be really correct, RPP is not an acronym. It is just initials.

An acronym is a set of initials, or abbreviated words, that are pronounced as if they were a word. So, WIFI is an acronym, because most people pronounce it as a word. RPP is not an acronym, because most people just say the initials. IBM and ATT are not acronyms. SCUBA and RADAR are acronyms. And so on.
