Re: Please and Thank You

Just a reminder that most of this subject material (SM) are TLAs or FLA's; except of course SM which while it is a TLA, it is not the common variant of a TLA, rather it is the uncommon variant. It is always interesting to note (at least to me) that while a TLA is not a FLA, a FLA is indeed a TLA even though that seems to be a misnomer (IMO). However all the unusual TLAs and FLAs are best described as a AFA.

For Richard - TLA = Three Letter Acronym (common variant, also at times, less commonly Two Letter Acronym); FLA = Four Letter Acronym; AFA = Another F*ing Acronym; IMO - previously explained in an earlier post or perhaps better put - PEEP. While this technically a FLA, I think most would suggest AFA is a better fit.

YMMV

Re: Please and Thank You

When I run into acronyms or abbreviations, I do one of two things: I ignore the post and the poster, or I ask what the hell the acronym or abbreviation means.

If I have a headache or I'm in a bad mood, I do both, in reverse order.

I don't think anyone really cares what you do whether headache burdened or in a bad mood. BTW what does it feel like running into an acronym?

I don't understand the crab at all. But then, I never understood Agatha Christie, either, and gave up after a couple books.

Punctuation!

What have you people done to my thread?

At least you haven't mentioned Hunters or anchors (or the proper spelling of anchor)...yet. Is there an abbreviation for Hunter or anchor? Submissions accepted herein.

Well, richard5,

It looks to me like someone wanted to stop the thread.

There are ill mannered louts of all persuasions. Sorry about that.
