Planting on sailboat

Funny question I know, it just occur to me randomly.
Has anyone of you tried planting on sailboat?
It can be on pots, trellis or aquaponics, how well it would work with life on the sea?

We usually have a few potted herbs going while out cruising, along with sprouts. We move them in and out depending on weather, etc. Works great, but so far our journeys have all been in fresh water.

Would that be some certain species of plant that can be more salt resistant in this respect?

You and Prince Charles the plant whisperer's. Only thing is I think Prince Charles believed the plants talked back.

Regarding growing plants on a boat I was reading up on that the other day. Worth searching for info on hydroponics. Also there are are grow LED lights that are worth looking at.

If you put the olants in a sealed room and pumped C02 into the room you will find they will thrive on the elevated C02 levels in spite what the CO2 alarmists say.

Definitely worth working out to have supply of fresh food, I think aquaponics can take less space, less affected by the salty air if the water can easily be cycled.
Maybe something like a box with holes or some pipe harness?

It's pretty easy to sprout mung beans in a damp container for greens to add to sandwiches.
