I thought it would be interesting to start a thread chronicling through photographs the boats we've owned.

Re: Photo Challenge

Our first was a O'Day 23 . My first , wife's 2nd . We loved that boat , kept it in Long Beach Ca. We were working at the time so we didn't have to decided what to do with the weekend , haha. We might still have it but we couldn't stand up in it .

Re: Photo Challenge

Great boat. We kept moving up until we got a boat we could comfortably stand up in!

Re: Photo Challenge

That's amazing. I have a hard enough time keeping one boat seaworthy and maintained. Good for you! There are many days I wish I would have kept the Siren 17. I poured my heart and soul into restoring that boat. For the money I got when I sold it I wish I still had it sitting on a trailer in the driveway....

Geez, I owned two mid sized cruising boats for a thankfully short period of time once...did not enjoy that experience.

I still own two boats, but one deliberately has absolutely no systems, electronics, or motor...so minimal maintenance...great fun to sail though. (Technically now 3 if you count the skiff, but its low maint too...just the OB).

The other...well...its systems rich and 18 years old now...in the midst of a refit...not enjoying that either.

REALLY looking forwarding to get back out cruising soon though (late Feb start it looks like). Working on boats for me is just a necessary evil.

Re: Photo Challenge

The Wildcat looks like a great boat. Spent some time on google looking at pics. I'm considering a cat for my fourth boat. What do you think of a Wildcat for cruising the Pacific Northwest?

The biggest issue was highly variable quility of build. They built some decent boats and they built some garbage. Differentiating between the two is the biggest challenge for a buyer.

Mine has served its purposes well: cruising boat, charter/sailing school boat, and liveaboard...all at different times.

Several threads on the Wildcats here I think, so give those a search also. Bit of a controversial boat.

Pacific NW...pretty chilly up there...cats can be a challenge to heat and cool because of their layout. The Wildcat, and most cats, is more of a tropical climate layout. Of course, depends on when you plan to cruise there...Ive sailed the PNW in August and it was very pleasant (was not in the Wildcat).
