Pets on Board

Does anyone have a unique way of getting large dogs (Labrador retreivers) on and off a large sailboat while at anchor? Have RIB on davits, but reluctant to use it for dog lifting and lowering.

Re: Pets on Board

How strong are you? One of those good life jackets with the handle on the back? You go aboard first, then lift him/her up? Sounds tough....

Re: Pets on Board

One might be able to use an outboard engine crane to lift the dog with a purpose made sling. Some big dogs are pretty placid and would tolerate it.
