Perkins 4.108 question

On the cooling tank-rt side facing on the back side-there is a flare connection with a short piece of tubing to the exhaust manifold.
This connection failed. Never was sure what it did. An aid to bleeding any air in the cooling system when refilling coolant?

Can I just cap both ends of the connection without causing any problems?

Thanks, Bob

Re: Perkins 4.108 question

Its an air bleed to allow the exhaust manifold to fill completely with coolant when filling the system.

Could be a problem if you dont get all the air out of the system, like blowing coolant out of the pressure cap or worse case, cracking the manifold. Its probably best if you repair or replace the damaged items.
