Can't wait for the grand canal. The authority makes transits a nightmare for experienced yachtsman.

Re: Panama Canal. For those who have never been.

nothing like national geographic to let us know how to transit the canal and to whom to go to find the required helpers to make the transit.
but it does not advise as to how to find the personnel to assist in this transit nor the pricing thereof.
otherwise, nice video.

Such a pity to see National Geographic fall into that over dramatic hype of bull instead of interesting facts.

The only 2 syllable word was.... Panama.

Makes me glad I don't have a TV.

Oh, I don't know about that. We found them efficient and friendly, and all spoke perfect English. Overall a quite good experience, especially considering yachts are a pimple on the ass of a massive commercial enterprise.

Looked at your blog. Nice boat.

Hate to break it to you mark, but Pa na ma is a three syllable word. Just how late do those island bars stay open on saturday night?

Lock gate closing on a panamax ship.

The canal is an engineering wonder. Water all moves by gravity (not true for the new locks under construction), and tiny motors move massive gates.
