Its just west of gananaque on the st lawrence. 10 minutes by sailboat from the admiralty group of islands. A wonderful club with a friendly membership. Lots of boats your size there.
Droberts, and Hamburking are correct, Trident is the closest gathering of large sailboats.

Droberts and I are both at Trident, Hamburking is at the next closest option in Kingston.

That's it, along with those who have already posted, these are all the local big boat guys that are in the Ottawa area on this forum. That I know of.

Sadly, Ottawa just isn't geographically suited to big sailboats. You will need to decide if you want your boat close, with not much sailing, or a 2 hour drive away. If sailing is what you want, then you'll want to be on Lake Ontario. Kingston is the junction between Lake and River. If you want to discuss the sailing situation in Kingston, just ask, but I won't bore everyone unsolicited.

Did you mention where you are relocating from?
I think it would also be of great interest to everyone here, IMHO, how you will be moving the boat. Also...what's your draft?

Attached pic is sailing this past saturday in Kingston. Wind SW 15knots. I anchored in the lee of Simcoe island, along with about 50 other boats, while my daughter gunked about in her laser. Yes, great sailing here. The water is sweet, warm, and clean enough to drink. Trident YC is about an hour by sailboat east, or 20 minutes by car.

Re: Ottawa area with 43fter

FWIW your only option is L Ontario beginning at Kingston and then west from that. In Kingston your options are the 2 public marinas, Confederation Basin which is essentially downtown, Portsmouth Olympic which is kinda dreary because of the closed Kingston Pen. And there is privately owned Collins Bay Marina which has a thriving yacht club, Collins Bay Yacht Club.
I dare you to. Heck it out :-).

Re: Ottawa area with 43fter

I have spent 10 wonderful summers with my 2 daughters, keeping my boat in Gananoque and sailing in the T.Is and west to Picton and further west as well as the US side. Chomont etc.
61/2 foot draught.

There is Iroquois Marine Services if you don't want to be in the middle of the 1000 islands hubub club.

IMS - Home

Just an hour south of Ottawa. Plenty of large sailboats winter there in the yard. 30 tonne travel lift. A bit of a motor out of the marina to the Seaway but after that it's a straight shot upriver to pretty decent sailing areas.

Re: Ottawa area with 43fter

Thank you for responses everyone. I'm currently docked in Toronto. I have a 5.5 draft.
Very unfortunate that I may have to either downsize, or drive a fair distance.
Thank you everyone for the fantastic input.
