Sadly, Ottawa just isn't geographically suited to big sailboats. You will need to decide if you want your boat close, with not much sailing, or a 2 hour drive away. If sailing is what you want, then you'll want to be on Lake Ontario

SW 15knots. I anchored in the lee of Simcoe island, along with about 50 other boats, while my daughter gunked about in her laser. Yes, great sailing here. The water
is sweet, warm, and clean enough to drink. Trident YC is about an hour by sailboat east, or 20 minutes by car.
