Older boats in marinas

I'll bet that is flexible at the Dock masters discretion at any that have it? Business is business getting stuck with a basket case I'm sure is a costly thing. If I where so blessed to own a marina, I would have it. I'm sure there a many dreamers out there with good intentions of a restoration, and are just that dreamers, that stick the marina with the liability.

We recently purchased a 1967 Chris Craft Cavalier 33'. We chose the Gulfport, Mississippi marina. We made no prior arrangements before the purchase for a slip. We did call ahead after we cleared the bayou and entered the bay. The harbormaster assigned a slip without ever seeing us !! The next morning after seeing our m/v we were allowed a slip on pier 5 ... which is ideal. All this was done before we acquired insurance. Which isn't easy on a 47 year old wood boat.

When I searched marinas I was asked if my boat was wood and if insured. Otherwise they did not care about age. Many not wanting to get stuck with firewood for the dumpster.

Times have changed. I miss what where called boat yards. Unfortunately those days are gone. Waterfront property is so valuable you're going to have to pay for a short time on the hill, or in a slip depending where you are. Here, the boat yards are high priced condos or homes. Such is life.

At my marina they're no accept wood boats or houseboats or flat bottom boats... Also boats with no more than 30 years.. and off course they're 60% empty...
..and the rest is fill with very old boats... jejejeje...

In the pnw they don't have age requirements they just require insurance prior to move in
