Oh no! Cloudflare ruins another favorite website of mine

Namely this one, Cruisers Forum.

Cruisers Forum is now 'protected' from military overseas, Tor users, and anyone who visits this site using an unconventional browser. And not only those who post, but ANYBODY who just wants to browse the site must now solve senseless CAPTCHAS like these:

Can you figure out what these say? Care to even try? I sure don't!

Re: Oh no! Cloudflare ruins another favorite website of mine

Well I am on a Macbook air, using Safari, on a normal connection (mobile inet or else wifi from various providers) and still get these. Currently in Thailand so perhaps that is the issue. But it is very annoying, especially as even when correctly filled out from a simple clear "captcha" image, it will usually not respond by allowing me in and I have to open another window with the history function to get through. Hopefully this will stop happening once the maintenace is complete.

Also in Thailand. Home WiFi. Work WiFi and mobile phone all exhibiting the same. Have to enter code almost every single page refresh.
It's becoming very annoying.

Really hope they remove this BS ASAP. I'm browsing from China and have to use a VPN to access the site. In recent days I'm being repeatedly warned about using an incorrect password at login, even though I can see I'm happily logged in.

Had to abandon using the app a while back for similar reasons. Now the web as well?

Welcome to CF! Sorry this has been your introduction… but I have to say I am glad I am not alone. Was making me wonder if this was only me but it is very clear now from this and other threads that the issue is wide scale. I really hope CF sorts it and that their "security upgrade" doesn't include retaining this software without significant tweaks, because from where I sit it isn't working and is making it difficult to participate.

Same exact problem. Turns out they don't want people blocking ads - try disabling your ad blockers.

Well… all I have running is Safari with pop ups disabled. If they want me to enable popups they are out of luck. What was wrong with the site previously? Because Cloudflare is the most annoying and disfunctional interstitial I have ever come across.

Chrome on Win7, have never installed or used ad blockers.

When I tried to post this reply, it did it to me again.

You can see I'm logged in. And that ads are displaying. So...

Worse still, this interstitial (ironically pronouncing "One more thing!" sigh, more like 1000 and counting…) appears only for some threads and not for others, sometimes goes away with correct input sometimes not. Terrible.

I don't think it is only overseas. The problem is more likely with the site or hosted server cookies that distinguish a connection has been made and relate it to a session on their servers.

On the logon page, try clicking the remember me, and it seems to hold your session a little longer until they get the problem resolved.

Thanks… but I haven't logged out, or been logged out, in years. At least not since my computer seems to supply the login details and cookies such that I do not need to do so. Rather what is happening is an interstitial by some company called "cloudflare" which purports to be verifying whether or not I am human. It does this randomly and erratically, and sometimes does, and sometimes does not accept the "captcha" verification.
