Oceanside Marina Key West

Has anyone stayed at Oceanside Marina in Key West? If so what was your experience. I am looking for a marina to keep Tioga for the winter. She has a 7.5 draft. Deep for the keys I know. If anyone has another option in the keys for staying the winter please let me know.
Cheers.

Re: Oceanside Marina Key West

I live in Key west and have been to the Oceanside Marina. It's nice enough and I'm pretty sure you should be able to make it in with your draft.
I keep my boat at Sunset Marina, which is on the Northside of KW (Gulf Side). It is a bit farther in than Oceanside, but is very nice, protected, and friendly with about 30% liveaboards. It has a small grocery store and very friendly staff. I also think it is much cheaper than Oceanside. It is also very convinient to the backcountry which is a great place to snorkel/fish, etc.

Thanks for the reply Dan. I would like Sunset Marina from what I heard, but could I get around Sigsbee park with the 7.5 draft?

Re: Oceanside Marina Key West

We stayed at Oceanside Marina for about 10 days this spring while getting some engine work done. Decent place, with friendly staff. Clean heads. A fair number of live aboards. You need a car or taxis to get anywhere. Not cheap, but then it is near Key West. It is located on Stocking Is, more the working part of Key West. The tourist part is a car drive away or a long bike ride.

I'm pretty certain that it is at least 8-10 feet through the whole channel... I draw 6' and have never had a problem...so I guess it depends on how much you're comfortable with.
