New Wind Generator System

Anyone using this type of wind gen? I know its only 50watts and may not suit a liveaboard, but it seems it would be a great trickle charger for the casual sailor.

Its not as cumbersome as most mulitbladed windgens. It would be interesting to see what other Helix type ones there are out there. As mentioned, they appear smaller and possibly safer with less to repair.

I'm not certain what type you're talking about here, other than "new."

Can we get another hint?

Re: New Wind Generator System

I cannot see how the max output will be 4 Amps, given the dimensions. At what wind speed? 40 knots?

Looks like a copy of the old Forgen:

Forgen Wind Turbines

I do not have a Forgen. Asked a couple of people who owned them and the answers were always the same : 'does not deliver'.

Avoid unless you can try out and return if not satisfied.
