New to the Big Island of Hawaii

Hi there,

I just moved to the big island of Hawaii from Colorado, and I am interested in learning to sail! I have been out a few times (enough to know I like it), but consider myself an _absolute beginner_.

Anyone have suggestions on how to proceed? Right now I am lurking the search box on this forum

What, "Sailing for Dummies" perhaps?

Aloha!

Whoah. Just found Ashoreschool.com.

That'll keep me busy for a while!

Aloha Drekar,

Try hilo-sailing.org where you can take free lessons. Classes start at 1100 on the south end of the beach by the canoes first Sunday of each month. Regular sail day is the 3rd Sunday of each month.

kind regards,

Well, that was a little bit of a stretch. The first lesson is free and after that you are required to join the club at $60 a year (unless the rate has gone up). Then you can come down whenever there is a class or a sail day and join in.
kind regards,
