Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!
Annoying. They want to charge 50% extra to ship to an American Forces address, just because our bank accounts are in Kuwait. Annoying.

They who? Did you try both companies: Overstock and Vermont Barre? I hope one will work for you.

Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!
I have tried the second one, the Vermont Barre company, and it seems to be OK. Plus it's cheaper, since I'm more than happy to complete a one question survey then share their deal on Twitter! Waiting till tomorrow to confirm order though... hope they still have stock then!

Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!
My set arrived yesterday. Agree with previous comments about the apparent quality of construction though the proof will come with the bad weather. I bought these for backup and unequipped crew, but they may replace my Gill's. For those trying to figure out sizes, I'm 6'3" and about 190lb. I ordered the large. The bibs are plenty long for me (34" inseam) and the coat will definitely hold a few layers beneath.

Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!
I ordered a small size for La Princessa from Vermont Barre but they, like Overstock, are all out. She is 5'4" and 115lbs and am wondering if a medium would not be too large. Any similar sized ladies out there tried a medium?

Hi,
I'm 5'5" 125lbs, ordered a medium and it fits "OK". you can see a picture here:
NEW FOULIES – Its like Christmas around here. | Sundowner sails again
I'm the one of the left. The jacket is pretty big, but I imagine the size small wouldn't be THAT much smaller. The pants fit well. The best thing about them is they will definitely go over any clothing I wear, and pants and jacket aren't too long once you velco tighten your limbs.
I think overstock has a pretty good return policy.
I would have gotten a size small but I be fine with the medium I believe. It's certainly not a getup for the catwalk, but for breaking waves and rain I'm hoping they'll do the trick.

Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!
We received the three sets we ordered today. Agree with the previous posts, I think these will do great during a day or three of weather.
The zipper on the left side is a little disorienting, I wonder if it will be a problem on a dark and rainy night.
Hats off to cruising couple on the OP, and the additional tip on Barre Army Navy store.

Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!
A couple of week ago we ordered a medium set of the foulies for me (a little big) and since then, I have been checking the StoreFront -- Barre Army/Navy Store Online Store army navy store periodically to see if a small would show up, and luckily today a small jacket showed up (they didn't have the small pants).
I bought it and will post pics later as to the size difference between the medium and the small on a 5'5" woman, since there have been alot of inquiries about what size would be best. Hopefully it will be helpful.
As to the quality of the jacket, Tate wore his during Mardi Gras in the rain and it worked great (size XL, he is 6'1" with longish arms)
We are going to keep the medium jacket as a spare on the boat for guests.
I bet other small sizes will come through the VT store.

Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!
Hmm. I ordered mine from the Vermont Barre Army Store just last week, and the order was confirmed. Now the site says they're out of stock.
I ordered two large in the end, since I actuallly have my ski salopeetes onboard, and for a spare at least the large one will fit us both!

Vt Barre must have been surprised to see so many orders. I'll bet they tried to get more before turning people down. If it took more than one day to send out cancellation notices, you can bet they were swamped!

Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!
When I spoke to the good folks at Barre they said they were pretty sure they would not be getting any more smalls from their supplier but who knows? They were a little overwhelmed and surprised that these things were suddenly flying off the shelves!

I got mine! I am very pleased with the quality, they are much better than I expected. Thanks to callmecrazy for the size advice, they are a good fit, plenty of room for my shoulders when working that coffee grinder, which is my primary concern. I will post some pictures if iI can figure out how to do it from my phone.
Thanks cruisingcouple for starting this thread and mattaz for steering us to VT Barre. This is the first time I have used CF (or any internet community) for something like this, thanks for all your help!
