Neighbors Boat Ejecting Water!?

Personally, I would not mind my dockmate showing an abundance of caution. I would rather pay the marina a $100 service fee to go check it out than have my boat sink.

Also, If I were leaving my boat by itself for the winter, in the water, I would definitely have a second/third bilge pump installed with a very loud high water alarm.

is it a small out let or larger? That should help define if it's a fridge or bilge pump.

i do not know of a bilge pump switch out there that will turn on for only 1/2 gallon of water. unless the bilge only holds a few gallons?

Typical behaviour for a boat with an encapsulated keel. The bilge pump is in a narrow but tall space. Mine will typically pump out 1/2 gallon per cycle.

In Seattle, I'd guess deck leak for that small amount. His bilge float might be hung up on something... On our dock we text each other, then check the boat when asked. People generally appreciate it when they are far away. The marina office probably won't give you their number, but I contacted the marina and asked they could share my number with a new neighbor that I wanted to contact.

Yeah, or many BP's pump out a little but what's in the hose runs back to the bilge, then with a little more water added from maybe the stuffing box, they cycle again. over and over....

Owning a c34, my guess is a shaft seal that is not snug enogh. However, for a owner that is away for months, it needs adjustment!

I agree. In the time you've spent here talking with us, you could have gone to the marina and asked them to simply call him. Give it a try as a nice neighbor. This C34, like all of them, does NOT have a deep sump. Could have AC. most have Adler Barbour fridges, not water cooled (unless he's been to the tropics!).
