Re: Need help finding a small boat with a gaff or gunter rig

Most any 16-18' dinghy should have a light enough mast that if it's on a tabernacle it should be easy enough to drop. We used to putter around in a 18' centerboard something-or-other and if the railroad bridge wouldn't open, I'd just go forward, release the pelican hook on the forestay, and the wife & kids would catch the rig. Sometimes we didn't even have time to drop the sails, but the whole Chinese fire drill would only take a couple of minutes.
