At least this one has a potentially worthy outcome to it...and now you dont need to worry if her engine runs or not or if she's tied to which dock or has a grimy centerboard or a crusty prop, you can donate or don't donate. I don't know what the context is that you're missing that made you imply politics was brought up.

OK, let's try this approach....

We love Italy, but would prefer to spend our winter in Palma, Mallorca visiting our CF friends Weavis and Prairiechicken. Right now we're stuck in San Giorgia di Nogaro, Italy 80km east of Venice where I'm growing tired of taking the same old pictures of the Grand Canal on my new $3000 camera.

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP US raise $2600 so that we can fuel up our Oyster and take the time off work to move her to a more convenient (to us) mooring in Palma. Our fuel tank is currently empty.

Please help us by going to: www.pleasefundourretirementenjoyment.com and give what you can.

Cheers

Ken
Let's see, you live on a yacht & you're cruising the Med. I can see why you're in such a bad mood.

Very odd, but the more Carebear loosens up the more I think we have been trolled, at least partially, in a very spectacular way. My feeling is probably incorrect, but it is hard to shake.

Re: NEED A TOW ASAP

You people are falling for a total fraud, one of the oldest tricks.... you know, the guy at the gas station asking everyone for five bucks to buy gas to get home?

Think about it....

1. The OP regects any sound advice to help themselves... only wants money.

2. There is no bank in the USA that will fund a boat loan without a survey. It's against the banking rules.

3. There is no such thing in the USA as someone obtaining an open line of credit to purchase a boat without first posting assets totaling two to three times the value of the loan. Again bank rules.

4. Absolutely none on this story makes any logical sense to anyone who's actually purchased a new or especially a used boat in the United States.

I can just imagine the response I'd get if I started a "gofundme" because I prefered to stay in Porto Cervo instead of San Giorgio di Nogaro.

Looks like I was right all along.... you just want others to bail you out of your mistake. No attempt by you to find a cheaper mooring.
No you were not right all along.
They didnt start the fund, someone did it to help them.
Althoughfinding a cheaper place in the med for your oyster, thats must be a real strain on you.
Ken back off with your insolence man, get back on the meds or stay away. You said you were done .
Let yer done be done.

Re: NEED A TOW ASAP

I think this thread has run its course and therefore closed. Carebear is welcome to start a new thread if they need advice on a particular subject like fixing that cylinder head or finding a cheaper mooring, or indeed anything else sailing related.
