I thought I would put a plug in for NauticEd as I recently signed up and am really enjoying the courses. They are well layed out and so far have contained good information that is easy to understand.

I have no affiliation, I just wanted to post this as I didn't find much about them here. I think they may be a great resource that is overlooked.

The other thing I wanted to point out... The courses would be great for cruisers out there that have no time to do the ASA courses but would like to have an ASA certification (bareboat). The NauticEd bareboat cert is accepted as an alternative to the ASA certification (by most charter companies) if you have over 50 days of demonstratable time on a big boat. Seems like that would be pretty easy for a cruiser to achieve. Seems like a nice thing to have if you sell your boat in the future but may want to charter.

Re: NauticEd

I haven't taken any of their courses but I regularly read the newsletters. Good stuff!

So, +1 on NauticEd
