I once heard of a ranch named the Last Dollar after what the owners spent on it. I always thought that seemed just as appropriate for a boat.

I've always thought a clock face, with the hands pointing to the 5 o'clock hour followed by "Somewhere" would be the perfect boat name. That way, when I sail in to port, folks could say "Hey! It's five o'clock somewhere!" and the party would begin!

Now that this is out, I will be expecting royalties from those that chose to do this...

a friend of mine has a boat named "Xanadu" - which is not altogether uncommon. but, i suggested it would be cute to name the tender "Rosebud." a play on the sled from Citizen Caine.

There is a racing fleet on the Pamlico Sound in NC wherein every boat uses a 'bawdy' name: My favorite there: Blow Me ... can you just imagine hailing that boat on VHF ?!!

..... and my other favorites "Never Again VI" and "Quarter Past IV"

A mariner 37 here in the harbor had no name on the transom for years. The owner said it was not there because t was a secret. She finally painted the name Secret on the transom.

Searay power boat: Sleeping with the Boss (Complete with big blue eyes on the hull and intertwined feet painted on the transom)

Here are some of the more memorable names I've seen:

There is a small ship / large boat named "Dammit Janet" docked across the river from here. I presume it belongs to a Rocky Horror fan.

"Never Satisfied" and "Always Satisfied" used to be docked in a marina near here. It wouldn't be remarkable, except they were in adjacent slips.

I saw "Cracked Oar" at a fuel dock. The owner realized the difficulties of the name -- he said that he sometimes had trouble getting marinas to acknowledge his radio calls, because they think it is a joke...
