I'm starting to get a complex here... all these guys talking about getting 'PARTS' caught in winches etc...
I sail naked most times.. weather and locations permiting... and I've never come close to catching anything, and the only toe stubbing is on the deck cleat midships... little toes... but once stubbed ever after stepped over.
As for getting your nuts caught in a winch.... no matter how hard I try to visualise ways this is possible... I cannot... short of sticking a very short winch handle uo your butt and swivelling to winch in the line... this would then result in said nuts crossing the danger zone once every rotation....
Conclusion therfore is there's a lot of skippers here hung like donkeys....
and one or two who are definitly 'Kinky'....

You are assuming a winch handle was stuck in the winch socket...

It's lonely out there singlehanded I hear...

Only for limited imaginations....
PS; recommend next time SA man use a 10" winch handle... those extra inches DO matter...

My winch is quite nice and shiny.... I wonder if it will get prettier as I get to the mid-atlanitc?

Do you think its wrong to have a favorite winch?

hijacked by a winch handle

Fortunately, I am in that 1% of humans who really look good naked.

I have an absolute ton of faults with my body - if it is being compared for perfections with a supermodel. However, it's way curvier than your average supermodel, and some people like that. They certainly used to in all the old paintings I see! I'm lucky in that my man has a fantastic body to look at - which is why we don't worry about clothes except for their insulation properties!
I think that sort of female body can be referred to a "zaftig" or "Rubanesque." But having been to many "nude beaches" and having lived on the south coast of France where in the summer there are tens of thousands of nude or topless men and woman, running around without any clothes on, nudity is definitely not erotic and actually has the opposite effect. After seeing a thousand women/men who you would pay to have them put their clothes back on, nudity is very "ho-hum" or numbing to your senses.
- - Barely speaking about 80% of the women are not worth looking at and even worth looking the other way. 15% are moderately well shaped and worth a glance, but there is that last 5% that we refer to a "teeth gnashers," where you grind the enamel off your teeth sneaking a peek at them. Even the blasé French men get affected as these last 5% stand at a kiosk wearing sandals and a smile getting a gelatto. But they are in the late teens to young 20's - the rest of the 95% simply could be ignored which is the normal situation.
- - The worst part of being au naturel is seeing yourself in a mirror, which is also a good way to inspire yourself to eat less food. They say the best diet is to hang a full length mirror on the refrigerator door and not wear any clothing.
- - On a cruising boat few wear any clothing below decks while in the Tropics - it is just too hot and wearing clothes means more clothes to wash. But up on deck, not wearing clothes is hazardous to your skin from the Sun's UV and the danger of getting body parts slammed, stuck, or causing nearby dinghy accidents when you bend over the windlass to retrieve the anchor. As the dinghy drivers avert or cover their eyes they tend to run into other boats.

If you see my naked derriere while we are under sail, i have one question: what are you doing spying on my boat? if you're eyeballing me, you deserve whatever you get. if you don't like my exhibitionsim, rethink your voyeurism.

I don't think anybody is "spying" on your boat but instead trying to be sure that when you get something stuck in the winch you don't end up being a hazard to others' navigation as you try to extricate your body parts.

This, unfortunately, is the cinical view of a majority of people out there. I find people to be very interesting to look at, even those who are not "perfect". As you say, very few of us have that supermodel body. I find that a confident attitude and healthy sparkle in the eye to be much more attractive than the "mere" physical beauty that is prefered by the masses. There is much more to admire about someone who knows the freedom and comfort of not conforming. As far as sailing nude, I've never gotten anything "caught" in the rigging but non skid can be rough on tender skin. Sometimes, some clothes to guard against chafeing (a pareo maybe) is just the ticket on rough days.
