Just like smoking, loud music etc. your rights to live your life your way ends at my eyes, nose and ears.

Re: Naked sailing!

If you are spending three days nude in a US port and you always have used lots of sun block I don't care. On the other hand if you scoffed at the Sun and its invisible UV rays and your skin cancer decides to ulcerate and you end up in a us hospital with metastatic melanoma and my tax dollars are spent subsidizing your care well that stupidity on your part would annoy me. It also annoys me when ignorant parents allow small kids to run around with unprotected skin in bright Sun light. Maybe the nudes like the vampires should only come out after sunset.

Smoking can effect my health. Loud music will be annoying even with ear plugs. You being naked? I just have to look away. No big deal.

Re: Naked sailing!

In Slovenia, the female masseuse told me to hang my robe on the hook and lie down on the table, on my back. My American puritanism kicked in, but I did as told and got my (non sexual) massage front and back. back in the states, the masseuse told me to go into the room disrobe and lie on the table. She was shocked to find me lying naked face down under the sheet. She left the room while I donned my boxers so that she could return. I don't think we can define a universal socially acceptable... and I question if the "frolicking" men knew they were offending anyone. If they were asked, they might have donned their boxers.

That seems strange to me. When I was doing marathons and triathlons a lot (in the US) I got massages almost weekly. Everyone (and different masseuses, male and female) had me completely disrobe and lie under a sheet. I have never had a massage where I was not completely naked but under a sheet, at least not in the US.

Here in Thailand it can be different because you may be outside in an open air resort environment. Usually something on underneath.

So your right to have your hair in a colour of your choice also ends at my eyes?

This might just take the cake. What is permissible in the public world is determined by what you deem to be visually acceptable? I'll be very careful to stay out of your country when you're elected dictator, Josef.

Re: Naked sailing!

Noun: liberty li-bu(r)-tee
1. Immunity from arbitrary exercise of authority: political independence
- autonomy
2. Freedom of choice
"liberty of opinion"; "liberty of worship"; "at liberty to choose whatever occupation one wishes"; "liberty--perfect liberty--to think or feel or do just as one pleases"

Re: Naked sailing!

Well....How fitting...my "special friend" and I were out sailing today, on the bay, when all at once she was taken back by the thought of fulfilling a fantasy she has had for some time. Now I warn you...the picture below is graphic. So those who are offended...don't look. Those that are not...I have more and better ones...

Re: Naked sailing!

It is October now, snow in the Rockies, snow in the Alps ... and this thread is still going strong.

And when I say to potentials that sailing is all about dreaming and bragging, I will hear 'oh, shut up you!' ...
