I have noticed that too. I never get involved in these mono- cat things on here, that is/was my point in this thread. I love this board for all the insight to ways to fix problems or learn about new stuff someone has found and pointed out here.

I hope to make it down your way one of these years, not necessarily on our hulls but maybe to charter and enjoy some friendly waves(human and liquid).

Yeah, seems to be a general phenomena on any forum.

If you keep it short, sweet, to the point (couple sentences), readers tend to read in/misunderstand all sorts of things you didnt mean.

On the otherhand, if you take the time to write a small novel to post in order to avoid such problems, readers will tear apart every little detail.

Damned if you do... etc.

No one else thinks Anchor comparisons are over done?

Wouldn't it be nice to have an archive of these threads to send someone to?

"Yes, Nu-bee, we have had many discussions about just that. You'll find your answer at ............"

Then the noob risks being derided with "RTFFAQ!"

Best strategy I have found to simply ignore and not deride. If the forum is high traffic, most certainly others, possibly noobs as well, will chime in with helpful info. If it is repeated info, so be it.

I think a bit of repeating is OK especially on big board like this.

I've seen more than a few posts with the basic run down and the 'more here' link. And on occasion it's interesting to read a thread from a few years back and one more recent to see how things have changed a little.

Actually anchors is one that moves a bit in theory or ideas with time.
