Mooring for two weeks in Rhode Island/Cape cod area this summer

I'm a Long island sound cruiser from City Island. I have a couple of two week vacations that are spaced with a couple of weeks in-between. I am wondering if anyone would know of an inexpensive place to moor a boat for a few weeks in the Rhode Island or South Cape Cod area. I'm Looking to cruise to the Vineyard and spend some time. I am a yacht club member so a reciprocal arrangement would work. Appreciate any help.
Thanks
Lee

$30 per night - mooring with Point Independence Yacht Club, or the Harbor Master Onset, but the mud is so sticky there you could probably leave it at anchor.

Since you are a yacht club member check with the secretary and ask which clubs you have reciprocal agreements with. A couple phone calls should be all it takes to make arrangements.

Look into New Bedford / Fairhaven, on Buzzards bay.
Few hour sail to CC and MV thru Woods Hole.
Although very much a commercial fishing port NB has many seasonal/ transient moorings
for recreational sailors both inside and outside the hurricane barrier.
I have stayed in marinas on the Fairhaven side and considered this as a good port if
I were to leave boat for a few weeks as you are considering.
NB has a great website...Port of New Bedford
also phone Penny @ 508 979 1456 or 508 961 3000 ??(from my notes so check site)
actually thinking seasonal moorings @ $150. but never confirmed.
From your neighbor Long Island Sound sailor from Steppingstone marina

I left my boat in New Bedford for a week last summer, I believe it was Popes island marina. The harbor is very well protected and has hurricane gates. Cuttyhunk, Martha’s Vineyard & Newport are all within a days sail.

Sounds like a great plan. A one way car rental to get you home and back. I use Enterprise car rental because they pick you up and drop you off at each end. Saves cab fare or Uber fees. We like that area.

You could go a bit further south also by checking in Pocasset, Kingsman Yach center.
They have an extended mooring field. A bit more remote maybe.

I second Kingman. One of the most protected harbors on the east coast, IMHO.
Takes me 2 hours from Kingman to Oak Bluffs when you time the currents through the hole and in the sound.
