Re: Master and Commander

SWMBO has approved my capital allocation request for the hardback set of O'Brians books. woohooo

As an aside O'Brian is an unusual Anglicisation of Briain. The O'Brien form is the most common , with O'Bryan making up the rear.

:-) I did not mean it that way, just that it is not a well known quote like Jack's 'lesser of two weevils' one

Much of the framed art in my boat is limited edition prints of the original paintings for the cover art for the series, by Geoff Hunt. The cover art for "The Mauritius Command" hangs over the galley dinette. One of my favorite pieces. All of his art is amazing.

Art Marine | Limited edition prints by Geoff Hunt of the cover art of Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey / Maturin novels.

Re: Master and Commander

One thing that does irritate me about O'Brian is the abruptness with which his books end.
