Mast storage on a West Wight Potter

Hi all,

I just purchased a used West Wight Potter 19, and To fit it into my garage I had to remove the mast from it's transport position (Pinned to the pulpit and resting on a crutch from the rudder gudgeon). Unless I take the stays and roller furler off, I have to have another way to support it, because it's longer than the boat and trailer by just a bit too much. So right now I have it resting on the cabin top and a short strut from the bow. The mast only weighs about 30 lbs. plus the roller furling and head sail. My guess is no more than 50 lbs. total.

So the question is, is this a feasible long term storage solution, or do I need to explore another option? I'm new enough to sail boats to not know what kind of force the cabin top can take long term.
