First time every sailing together, we were "crew" -- defined as two extra folk to help pay the charter
. Me, some 15 yrs ocean experience at the time; her, lake sailing on her own license
but no blue-water experience. Captain
some guy I knew who talked a good game
. Little did I know....
....Insert voyage from hell here....
So anyway, when we got back to town my wife (girlfriend at the time) decides that men
don't know nothing 'bout nothin. She takes night school
sailing courses. We charter boats - just us two - and build her sea miles. Two years of that and off she goes for the practical license
exam. Passes it, and ends up her license is higher level then mine.
Twenty years now we've been sailing together - just us two aboard.
I don't have an "admiral" aboard - I've a fully competent partner.
