Having been one in much earlier stage of my life, I can confidently tell you that journalists do not report facts. They report what people say, often while fully aware they are being lied to. Sometimes they then find someone to say something different (more lies, or possibly actual facts) so you can accuse them of manufacturing controversy. What they say they are actually doing is presenting all sides of the story, and letting you decide what the facts actually are.
It doesn't always work out.

Re: Man and dog found dead on yacht
Gee, two pages of speculation.
The only facts known are that a man was found 'inside' the vessel. Which means it had to have been entered initially to have discovered this.
The language of the story is indicating the dog was dead as well, though this could be just poor grammar.
It's a well kept boat.
Nothing else is known at this time. You can't speculate on the main sail as it looks like any other main sail that a person has been sailing with. You can't speculate on the tender being right side up. Many people, including me, store their dingy right side up. You can't speculate on marks on the hull, as many boats have marks on a hull.
I'd 'speculate' something other than carbon monoxide poisoning, which I don't believe can happen without you knowing it with a diesel. Given the dog as well as the man died, I'd speculate an LPG leak.

Seems like the speculation/analysis police have arrived on the thread.

Re: Man and dog found dead on yacht
If the freighter did not want to stop, how did they know both the sailor and dog were dead? From the picture, I cannot see anyone.

Unless there is a ladder somewhere particularly for this purpose (e.g. on the dock side, or on your or a neighbours boat), It is almost impossible to get out of the water in your average dock - even if you are young, fit and healthy.
(A long time ago when I was all of those, I fell in and could not get out without outside help).

Exactly...a bunch of Sherlock Holmes here. All I get out of the typical poorly written story is that somehow the freighter is assuming the 2 were dead since he never boarded. I guess now it is confirmed the 2 were in fact dead.
But really folks...how about some compassion. Its a fellow sailor that has met with tragedy. The poor animal must have been distressed over its master and futher dying of thirst. Dogs overheat quickly without water. Hopefully both left this world doing what they love. My heart goes out to their loved ones.

Messed around trying to read the name. Doesn't seem to have the form of Allegro.

Re: Man and dog found dead on yacht
Could also be the name isn't on the stern, but on the bow.
Not that I can make out what it says on her bow, but still
I think in France, just like in the Netherlands, many boats have the name on the bow and the home port on the stern.

Murder investigation?
