Still a few days to go on the track, but yeah... as of now I wouldn't want to be sitting in La Paz.

Re: Long term anchorage, mooring or dry dock in mexico

i wouldnt want to be anywhere in golfo de california, aka sea of cortez in summer--is a miserable environment and when disturbed the waters are nasty as hell..not my idea of a grande time.... i prefer to be where the winds are less and where the chance of hit directly over head from ocean is less than in baja. i do not have to relocate due to chubascos not northers nr furycames..this place rocks. i am glad that the insurance scamations do not allow folks to summer here....is a GOOD thing.

Re: Long term anchorage, mooring or dry dock in mexico

you want cheap and close to soc??? summer in barra de navidad is safe place to leave a boat in the marina and is 25 cts per ft per day per month--wont find too many in water marinas fro less. dry storage--san carlos/guaymas. guaymas is cheapest in mexico fro marina seca.

in winter--everything price wise rises considerably --except dry storage in guaymas. i know the marinas in soc area are high all year round. mainland mexico has high and low seasons. low season rocks..high season is pricey and crowded

Thanks for your ideas.
I think guyamas will be a good option. The boat will be on land and far away from the normal hurricane routes. And it's cheaper than the other spots.

Did anybody make any bad experience with the dry doc in guyamas?

Re: Long term anchorage, mooring or dry dock in mexico

Hey,

Does anyone know how much it costs for dry storage in Chiapas? We have a 30ft sailing boat, it'll be there for around 10-12 months. Ideally dry storage would be better as it'll need a new paint job!

Any advise is more than welcome.
