Lightning Strike - Sorta

Friday afternoon motoring south to meet up with another couple. The front came through with the usual Florida squalls.

We were motoring toward the north bar north of Anclote Key to anchor up while it passed.

I had one hand on the wheel and one hand on the throttle control and saw a strike out ahead of us. It was at least a quarter mile I would guess if not farther. At the same time I was jolted/shocked. Such a fast and short experience.

Wow! I was lucky I guess.

Nothing else noted except the wife was not real happy. Plus in the same general area where the Delta won't bite in the grass/mud. I never got the anchor set. The squalls passed and it cleared while I was trying and trying. Hah! So we went on south for the meet.

Just lucky.

PS She has asked again when I am going to get that new fangled anchor.

Wow! There must have been closer bits to your boat you could not see.
