Leaving Australia

My wife and I plan to leave Australia with our 39ft Aluminium Trimaran and cruise Indonesia, Phillipines, Malaysia, Thailand etc.

If we were to buy or rent a home as a base in this area in general what place / country would you suggest.
In regard to low cost of living/lack of Goverment restrictions/ visa's etc

I would seriously look at Langkawi as a base of operations. We loved it there.
