I'm looking at a couple boats at the moment to buy one and I have been offered the opportunity to leaseback to the vendor, a
charter company. I'm not looking at making a huge amount of
money but it does solve
maintenance costs for the next 12-24 months and some issues with foreign
ownership and visa restrictions here in
Thailand.
I have already thought of a problem with asset
ownership and creditors in the hopefully unlikely event of the company going into liquidation.
Does anyone have experience of this type of operation. What pitfalls should I be careful of?
