I don't drink for the record. I just get tired of naysayers. Of course when a naysayer gets called out then to make even more hateful comments.. dont assume unless you know. I am btw, a girl, you might want to get your eyes checked.. 'bella is not a male nick. Just because you knew Bob back in the day does not give you a pass on rude comments yourself..
When I first read your posts I thought "just another internet loon going out of their way to find offence at imagined insults "........albeit once the links appeared I put it down as simply the case of trolling up some interest in the re-launch (oh, how old school quaint )......

........but since then you have filled in a few blanks (age and gender), so I now have a mental image of some dotty old lady ranting at the world .

I would explain why I thought the comments made were with some merit. But I do appreciate that I would be wasting my time. So I won't bother.

Re: Latts and Atts: Something Happened

I'm pushing 70 and wouldn't want to have to start over. Just don't have the ambition and drive or the patience to deal with idiots and especially attorney bull **** anymore. The comment on Mr. Bitchin's age and what he faced if he wants to resurrect L&A was just a statement of reality, not a nasty comment. Seems people have a real serious problem these days when someone talks reality. A drug addict isn't a drug addict but someone that is reality challenged.

I stopped following this thread so don't know what went on in its' middle

but, I've been getting emails from Bob's new adventure and I can not help but feel that this is/was a conflict with whatever deal he made with the new owners of LA

but I admit I don't have facts and this is just my impression

I think the part you missed may have been that L&A doesn't exist anymore, therefore no conflict!

Interesting news - the demise of Lats & Atts.
At one point I subscribed but then lost interest.
I did enjoy Bob's FTW attitude.

Re: Latts and Atts: Something Happened

I don't think it has been mentioned, but L&A going under has also been the end of Living Aboard magazine, and the website forum. (L&A bought Living Aboard in the past year). The website is dead.

Re: Latts and Atts: Something Happened

There's quite a few from Living Aboard here. I wish I'd known about that forum years ago. Please don't misunderstand about what I said about Bob. I'm in total sympathy with him. I just want to point out that Bob and his wife are not young, that health issues come with age, that older folks do not have the 70 hour a week drive anymore. I'm 58 and a day in the sun working on my boat isn't near as productive as it was when I was 38. I've slowed down in the last ten years and I don't plan on being faster ten years from now. I will also point out that one of the reasons Bob said he wanted to sell L&A, was that it was too much work. Starting over will be even MORE work than that. I only wish him the best and I have no interest in putting him down. I miss L&A, I enjoyed it a lot.

I loved lats and atts. Met Bob and crew at many boat shows. Great people. I joined the crews club years ago but droped the extra expense of the online info they then added a link to sailnet that had the same noninterest as the old online club. I wish them the best, I would love to see them back, but it sounds like the last startup all over again. I would love them to encourage and participate in more online chattering. But I do hope this works out.

Re: Latts and Atts: Something Happened

Bob's new thing is Cruising Outpost, like the bar's with that designation in the mag. Just google it. He also has changed the forum Sailnet to Cruising Outpost forum. The new deal will be a quarterly print, website stuff, cruiser rallies (one in the PNW) is going on now. So does not look like Bob's done, although he may be court some on the Latt's and Att's contract violations (that's the claim of the buyer). So stay tuned and check out the Outpost. Just saying

Re: Latts and Atts: Something Happened

I'm probably not Bob and Jodi's best advocate because I'm not a prolific poster. In my career I listened and made decisions. Now I listen and make recommendations. I enjoyed Lats & Atts because I seem to identify more with the community around it. I've never felt the urge to place anyone on their forum on my "ignore list" there but I'm well over a dozen here.

I chose to assist with their new endevour "Cruising Outpost." I'm what they call a founding member. It cost me $250 but between me and the wife we've had that much in free Pizza & Beer at the Lats & Atts parties over the years. If you're interested in seeing their new effort succeed you can subscribe at: Subscribe | Cruising Outpost.
