Lake Pepin to Annapolis

Next Spring/Summer, I'm planning to relocate my 30' sailboat to Lake Superior to begin a 4-5 month trek through the Great Lakes, the Erie Canal, and down to the Chesapeake. If anyone has any recommendations on places to visit, or avoid, or regional issues I should be aware of, I would greatly appreciate it.

The Apostles are always nice, Isle Royal is amazing and I've heard the Slate Islands are pretty unique.

Where are you putting in? Duluth?? Bayfield??
