Key Largo sailboat rental

We are taking my father, son and daughter, along with their kids, our grandkids, to Key Largo for the week of Dec 27-Jan3. Looking for a place to rent/charter a sailboat for half or a whole days. Not sure what options or boats are available in the area; looking for some options. Thanks Mike

Treasure harbor marine is our local charter company, not sure if they do such short rentals though. You can call and ask 305-852-2458

If you stay at Key Lime Sailing Club, they offer 22' Catalinas plus paddle boards, kayaks etc for FREE use. Our Daughter and family stayed there last Feb. and had a great time.

Re: Key Largo sailboat rental

Someone has already mentioned Key Lime Sailing Club. its very low-key, basic, but clean. Accommodations come with an old Catalina 22. Many beach toys for your use on the beach. Although we are serious sailors, my teenage son absolutely loved this place. He swam with a manatee, sailed with us on the Catalina, sailed sunfish, and paddleboards. I hesitate to recommend places, because it depends what you are looking for, but check it out. If you are looking for a serious sailing charter, then its probably not for you, but for a cool little friendly place to hang out and do a little sailing - it works.

I am looking for the same information, but for a crewed charter/daysail. My father has some minor mobility and communication issues, but my stepmother is entirely able. Any recommendations welcome!

Did not use the boats but did stay at Key Lime Sailing Resort and enjoyed the place and the people. Includes a sunset sail on a catamaran that is crewed by staff.

Might ask Lance or Suzanne Holmquist at Calypso Watersports. Good folks. Just google them. They have boats for hire with or without captain. Lance is a great storyteller too.

Re: Key Largo sailboat rental

We have stayed at the key lime sailing club twice. The second time we brought a group of sailors from our sailing club here in Tennessee. Everyone loved it, very very family friendly. We plan to go again sometime in the future.

Key west / stock island has some great sailing charters, one is a 42 manta catamaran, the Tortuga.

Can I ask where your son swam with a manatee? My daughter is coming down from college and I would love to take her somewhere she could swim with them.

Re: Key Largo sailboat rental

Thanks for all of the great responses; we are in a similar situation as one of the responders; KBDunning. The Grandfather is a sailor, age 86 and not real mobile. Wanted to get him out on the water for 3-5 hours as this may be his last chance to get out on the water.
