JEANNEAU WOOD IN RUDDER??

Do mid eighties Jeanneau s have any wood to rot in their rudders? Specically a 1985 Sunshine 36. I read they do in a jeanneau owners forum. Is it -can it -be true? Thanks

In the charter fleet I worked on in the 90ies we had GibSeas with plywood rudders & Feelings with foam & fibreglass rudders: more than one of the Feelings came back with one (lateral) half of the rudder gone...& not from a grounding or collision
The plywood rudders were trouble free.
&I clearly remember an Oceanis of a company we shared the marina pontoon with returning from a charter with just two fibreglass-tabs & the fibreglass shaft...
